Delicious Division
We are learning to solve division equations using our knowledge of multiplication.
Multiplication practice:
56 ➗ 8 = 8 x 7 72 ➗ 9 = 9 x 8 44 ➗ 11 = 11 x 4
45 ➗ 9 = 9 x 5 64 ➗ 8 = 8 x 8 56 ➗ 7 = 7 x 8
35 ➗ 5 = 7 x 5 144 ➗ 12 = 12 x 12 27 ➗ 3 = 9 x 3
Maselino has 50 chocolates. He would like to share them between 5 friends. How many chocolates will they get each? 10 x 5
36 cookies are shared between 6 friends. How many cookies do they get each? 6 x 6
Justus has 70 chocolates. He would like to share them between 5 friends. How many chocolates will they get each? 14 x 5
Cooking club have made 48 cookies that will be shared between 6 students. How many cookies will each student receive? 8 x 6 = 48
Naomi has 80 lollies. She would like to make 20 lolly leis. How many lollies can you use to make each lei? 4 x 20 = 80

Tamati has 48 fidget spinners to share between 12 friends. How many will they receive each? 12 x 4 = 48
Mrs Vaafusuaga has ordered 81 tennis balls. They are in cans of 3 balls. How many cans should there be? 3 x 20 = 60, 3 x 7 = 21. 60 + 21 = 81, so then the answer is 27.
