Promoting Matilda 2019



Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us do a task about promoting a book. I promoted a book called Matilda! I already finished reading the book and I actually enjoyed it. In the task we had to do one of these things: Screencastify, Presentation or poster. Or you could do all 3 of them.
I did all 3 of them because I wanted this task to be more challenging. After  finally finished, I made it look pretty with the stars at the back.

Something in the water: Animation 2019



Task description.
Mrs. Langitupu introduced us to a new animation in week 1. This animation was really confusing. It was like a jungle because I never knew what to animate! But then I sort off found out what to animate and then I finished! Then I did my voice over and my animation is done!

Voice over Animation

Hi, my name is Simon. Today I am going to show you my animation. 

This is my rocky shore, there are 4 zones in the rocky shore. I’m gonna talk about the intertidal zone. The intertidal is basically the high tide zone, middle tide zone and the low tide zone.

These are some of the body parts of a crayfish. There are body parts like the pincer!
There's also much more body parts I didn’t add, like the swimmerets.

Now I’m going to show you my crayfish eating a little fish like a goldfish. And then getting eaten by a giant blue shark!

Finish the Story! (reading)

Character descriptions.
Josh is a scaredy cat because he was about to fall in the water. But I can relate.
Josh has a nice dark skin tone, with very short hair. On the 5th page, he looks scared that he would die.
The Storyteller is like this mature kind of child that doesn’t really care. And he's mean because he didn’t bother saving his best friend.
He looks asian, with black hair. He has nice white nails. And he has spiky long hair.
Physical description and Personality Description.


The camp was really nice, like akawa island. It’s a really good camp. It’s nice and dark. And when the sun comes up, it’s a bright cool.
The cabin is really clean. And has a smooth dark wood wall. It has about 4 beds on the ground. 
Setting description.

They wake up in the cabin.

The boy was stuck and his friend wouldn’t help him.

They are not saving him so the thing is gonna fall.

It has been left when josh is still stuck.

I think Josh would fall and then everyone will laugh at him.

Then Josh fell because the thing broke, and then everyone laughed at him. Then Josh cried and then everyone else felt really guilty. Then Josh wasn’t there friend anymore, but then they apologised and they became best friends again.
They also promised to help him when he's in need.


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us do a extremely confusing task. It was a really hard task. We had to do lots of things that I can't even explain. This task is like a description of the book. But it's a book without an ending.

Superhero! (Writing)


Well, it all started like this. He started to walk to school, but he found this unusual crystal. It wasn’t like glass. It looked like an actual crystal. It was a nice blue colour, and it was shiny as a clean bedroom! He decided to show the teacher, even though the teacher didn’t like Simon. Simon is just trying to be a good student with him.
When he got to school, he went straight to class and showed his teacher. His name was freaky. His name is, Mr. Goodwin.
He’s from Scotland, but born in New Zealand. He didn’t even care. But Simon started to annoy him, he might know what that crystal is afterall. His face started to turn red. He grabbed the crystal and smashed it on the floor. Then gas started to appear from the broken crystal. Then they fainted, I guess it was sleeping gas? Simon was a prankster. He loved joking around, and especially loved pranking people.  He woke up before Mr. Goodwin and he really wanted to go to the toilet. But suddenly, he teleported there. He was really confused. He forgot about having to poop. Then he just ignored the fact that he could teleport and decided to live a normal life. 

Then Mr. Goodwin woke up. He felt more powerful. Like a dinosaur that wasn’t extinct. He found a weird costume, he thought it was cool. He wore it, and he felt way more powerful! He decided to be an undercover villain. He wanted to destroy a student. An annoying student. A student named Simon.
 He was so fast that his feet burned the school. Then his pupils were slowly turning to fire. Simon realized that he had to do something. He quickly found this cloak and put it on. He ran to people and held there hand. He teleported them outside to school. He got everyone out of the school, but then Mr. Goodwin found him. He was losing energy so he couldn’t teleport outside. It’s like Mr. Goodwin had unlimited energy. Well unlimited energy of being evil. Remember when I said he felt like a dinosaur? Well he is strong as a dinosaur. He lifted a line a lockers and threw it at me. Luckily I had enough energy to teleport out of it. But still he couldn’t teleport out of the school. Then Mr. Goodwin grabbed his neck and started to choke him…..  oh no.

Then other students tried to jump in and help him. He said “No stay away from this farting monster!” The student listened but first they asked for his name. Simon thought of a name quickly. He thought of Nomis.
He said “My name is Nomis.” Then the students thanked him on saving them and went away. But one student didn’t. He was trying to kill him. He got a butter knife and chased that monster. But that monster was too fast.
After that student lost breathe that monster grabbed his neck to. He was choking them, but it got worse.
The choking started to hurt more. Simon, known as Nomis started to turn gray. But he knew that the student wouldn’t last as long as a superhero. What will he do?

Simon decided to not give up. He was a very bad superhero. But he finally found out a new power. Invisibility, also being annoying. Simon had enough energy to teleport out of the fist. Then he did his weak punches.
Mr. Goodwin was about to attack Simon, but he teleported behind him and punched him. He kept doing that. But instead, he went behind him and screamed. Then he turned invisible and jumped on his head. He was stomping on him like a giant.
Then the other student decided to tell everyone to come inside and beat him up. Wow, he actually lost. He had extremely good powers to! Then Nomis told everyone to scream hard out. So they did, and Mr. Goodwin was ANNOYED, really annoyed.
He ran away like a baby. I guess that it’s for Nomis! Everyone thanked him for saving him, then he teleported to his classroom and quickly changed. No one saw him.



Then everything started to be normal. But the teacher did come back. He apologized and hoped he would get the job back. He didn’t, but Simon had a great idea. He told it to the principal and he definitely agreed. 
Simon made a mess and said “Janitor, clean it up please.”, The janitor was the villain. 
I guess it’s a normal life now?

Very different though!  The End…....


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin decided that we were gonna do something fun yesterday! Yesterday, we did a piece of writing. It was about superheroes, our OWN superheroes. I finished yesterday, but I didn't get the chance to do my animation for our writing.
My super hero was me, and my evil villain was Mr. Goodwin.

|| What we saw at the Rocky Shore ||

Mr. Goodwin told us we were going to the rocky shore. We went there so we could explore the rocky shore. And also learn where the zones are. That's all.

||Museum Trip||

One day, on Week 8, the extension and few other people got to go to the museum.  It was a great opportunity for us. On the first day, we did lots of things.
First of all, we all met up and figuring out who’s not gonna go on monday.
After we figured it out, we went out to the breeze and waited a little while. After we waited for a couple of minutes.
We finally got to go out on the bus.
When we got on, we waited a little while. Actually, it’s more like 30 minutes.
After we got off the bus, a girl introduced herself. Her name was Wendy, she was gonna be our boss.
She showed us the way to the classroom. And that’s when we met a man named Gabriel.
He was gonna teach us how to code the little robots.
Then Wendy and Gabriel introduced curators of this thing. It was definitely about our term 3 theme. Something in the water! They were showing us things in the rocky shore, and they did lots more things!
Then we got split up into 2 groups. 1 group was gonna do the Coding and the VR Painting, and the other was gonna explore the gallery.
My group explored the gallery.
After we saw all those cool things in the museum, we went to this place so we can eat! The food was..interesting. We had a sandwich, apple and a cookie. The sandwich filling was carrots, cabbage, tuna and butter. But with loads of carrots. I tried the sandwich first, and it didn’t taste good, but it didn’t taste bad. After I finished that, I gave my apple to my friend Angelica. I hate apples. Then all I had was my cookie.
Now we just had to wait.
After that was done, it was our turn to do VR painting, Coding and this drawing app!
It was extremely fun.
Then we left the museum, farewell to the museum.

Jokes on you! That was just our first day, now we're on to the second day.
It was basically the same thing, but instead. The bus was super late. But ignore the bus part for now. Let’s move on when we got to the museum.
The second day was interesting, and really fun! We got to choose out of VR Painting and Coding.
I of course chose VR Painting.
Well after that, we had lunch. Lunch was very strange. The sandwich was carrots and cheese.
And then we had like salty cereal, lastly an apple. I gave my apple away.  But the sandwich was disgusting. But I wasn’t really hungry. 
Then we did the same thing and we finally finished. After we finished, we had to say our final goodbyes to the museum.

Then we arrived at school. That’s the end.

Task description.
Mrs. Langitupu made us do a piece of writing when we came back from the museum. We had 20 minutes to finish it, then post it. In those 20 minutes I only finished it.
Then the next day at school, which technically is today, the 11th of September. I posted it.

Pass the PLANNED Story (1)

WALT: write using the structure of a narrative.

One day, a boy named James was walking around the city, he went to a cafe to have his breakfast. While he was half way on finishing his bagel. Everyone started screaming, after he had finished, he went outside. For some reason no one was there.
He was starting to get nervous, but he still managed. While he was walking a creature tried to attack him. But he definitely heard those big loud steps. So he did a backflip over him, and punched that creature. The creature was unconscious. He was so confused on why there's a creature attacking him. Afterall, he didn’t even know what that creature was. He went on google and specifically describe what the creature had.
It apparently was a boar, it didn’t look like one, or feel like one. It’s so rust, like metal. He thought it was a robot, but he knew he was a crazy thinker.
He walked a few more steps and two more tried to tackle him. He just ran to his best friends house. But while that was happening, he saw like a teenager in a boar costume, but with a head like Megamind.
He saw that I was going somewhere but then he just disappeared.


When he finally got to his house. His best friend,  Zelina looked suspicious. She was grinning a lot, but of course he trusted her.
What I good friend, am I right? Well he explained what happened and Zelina looked surprised. But James said “We should work with each other to defeat those wild boars!”. Zelina agreed, but in hesitation. He didn’t know what was up with her but he ignored it.

They made a plan, and the plan was to just give food. Like meat, cows, chicken but never pig. Pigs are just James favourite animals. Zelina wanted to distract them, she did it. But when she disappeared when she turned, The boar master came. Weird, it’s like she already knew the plan. The boars were already full!  James tried to warn Zelina. It worked. Zelina survived. After one whole day, it was still going. But Zelina wasn’t that suspicious anymore. Maybe she was tired. She did mention to James that she works for 12 hours straight. Zelina started being way more serious, like she did have some really great ideas. Like “Burn them and then we should eat them”. Which is really disgusting, but it was a really good idea.


They did that plan, let me explain how good or bad it went. First we tried burning some sticks and throw them at the boars. It didn’t work, again it’s like the boar master know. Lastly they tried just burning some sticks, until it’s burning hot. 
Then they tried fighting with it. Instead they just burned their own hands. They just got sick of the fire. That they were trying to do something else.
Then Zelina became gross, she said “ We should vomit in a bucket and then add our boogers in the vomit! They might die!”That's just disgusting, but they tried it anyway. Did I mention that Zelina can easily barf? I just found that out when she vomited in the bucket in like 5 seconds, and 5 more seconds it’s already filled up. Then she told James to do the boogers part, but he refused. So Zelina did it. She picked her nose and got all the boogers and put it in the vomit. Disgusting, there were like little pieces of sausage skins. It wasn’t even green! It was literally brown and yellow mixed up together. Of course James let Zelina do it because James will be blind when he looks inside the bucket. Sadly, he still did it. The power of force, I guess?
While that was happening, he didn’t barf! Which is really impressive.
He dumped the vomit and boogers on gang of boars, but it just slipped out of the boar and went on the ground? It’s like they’re waterproof too.
Then they decided to take a break. It’s like they’re trying to find something that’s really important. They’re not getting James and Zelina when they sleep.


James is going to investigate. He pretended to sleep, so he could spy on Zelina. After a few hours, he silently, like a ninja went to her room and she wasn’t there. She’s definitely up to something.
He didn’t know what she was up too though. Maybe she’s the boar master? But James knew she would never betray her best friend.
Well most people wouldn’t. Zelina must be a fake best friend, who knows! Because she was acting suspicious before. He had a plan. But he was figuring out how to do it. But he’s gonna make a test, he’s gonna make a fake plan. Then he will tell it to Zelina to see if the boar master will know the counters.
But if it does happen, he definitely knew who it was.  Were all pretty sure it would be Zelina. 
First of all, let me tell you the real plan. The real plan was to throw water at the boars, because they did feel like a robot first of all. And the system of the robot would be messed up. The fake plan was to try to kill them by hand. I don’t know how Zelina would fall for it, but she actually did!

When they did the fake plan, they had a laser cannon on their forehead. That’s when you know something is up, James pretended to distract them. Instead, he went back to Zelina’s place and filled up some balloons with water. Ready for action?
Well, it’s not that exciting. It’s EXTREMELY EXCITING. He was ready to confront Zelina.  James told Zelina to go back to the place after he got all those balloons filled.
When he was outside with one robotic boar with a laser, he threw a balloon at the boar. Guess what? The boar died in 1 balloon, that’s when you know it’s actually a robot.
He saw the boar master and rushed to it. Well actually, he slowly went there. I guess he was just slow? Actually, he’s slower than a snail.
He was surprised that all those robots were scared of him. It’s freaky that robots actually have a brain.  Well when James finally got to that master, he saw Zelina. But that’s not all, there's way more people! This must be her job! He thought her job was at McDonalds. She must have lied! Zelina pushed James away and said “Sorry, and Goodbye”. Zelina actually hated her job, but it was the only way to earn money. 
She did make sacrifice button, which basically means explode the robot. She told James to run, I guess Zelina was going to press the button.
If you guessed what I guessed, you’re right. She did press the button, but guess what? It didn’t work, it didn’t explode.But it did leap away like a Ballerina. I guess that was her goodbye. I guess that was a happy and sad ending? 
Then James decided to be like the robot and leap away like a ballerina.

The End.

Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made up a new game, we had to pass our Chromebooks and they have to choose something about that character. Like that character is funny. Then we tried to finish it off and post it on our blog. That's it!

Write Like Paul (2)

WALT: write using the structure of a narrative.

One day, at school. They were watching a romance movie, because they have a project to do. The project was to make your own romance movie, but in animations. While they were watching the movie, which wasn’t that bad. This man vomited all over everyone. Since it wasn’t that bad, people just started to make fun of him. They called him the “Weak Romance Watcher”. Even though his real name is “Ian”. Each day at school, they threw the cafeteria food at his face, well at his mouth. One day he got sick of it, he got supercross that he turned into a vomit monster. Now everyones scared of him. This situation was like the zombie apocalypse, but it's way worse!
The whole school is literally destroyed, but one class, decided to be heroes and they try to fix the problem. They were figuring out ways for the vomit to evaporate. A girl named Jessica had an idea. It was really silly. The idea was “ I think we should get more vomit so it gets destroyed!”. She looked smart, but she's really was, you know um.. DUMB. Then there's this other guy called Sam. His idea was worse, did I tell you that he was super gross? His idea was, “I think we should throw boogers at him, I bet vomits can’t resist my boogers!”. Everyone was disgusted that no one wanted to sit with him anymore.

But there was this one man named Evan. He was actually thinking outside the box. You know how detergent/soap cleans most things. He thought about that and he got an idea! His idea was, “Maybe we should use detergent? Be… bec… because detergent like cleans most things, maybe that will clean the vomit?” Evan was the shy type, it’s literally his first time talking to the whole class, but he was really smart. He gets straight A’s in every test, so they all decided to do Evan’s idea.


Evan decided to be a sneaky ninja, he sneakily went past the vomit monster. He was looking for some detergent, Evan knew the school has some detergent because they clean the hats with it. Evan looked around the staff room, but all he found was this old pizza at the sink. It was really gross, are teachers that unhygienic? Next they went to the janitor's room. He went and got a bucket at the janitor's room. But he remembers that he saw some teachers talking about the room downstairs. It might actually be a laundry room! But he wasn’t sure where it was. He thought about it again, and he thinks that there must be a locker which isn’t taken that’s a secret door. He went through 7 lockers, and guess what? He was correct, he found the laundry room and snatched some detergent. After that he went to the staff room to get some water, he mixed it with the detergent. After that he went back to the classroom.

Now it’s time for ACTION! The whole class worked together. One group distracts the monster, and one group tried to pour the detergent all over the monster. Since it was Evan’s idea, they let him pour it.

The other group distracted the monster. Geez, the monster was really annoyed. The other group carried Evan and made him be some sort of girly girl cheerleader. They made him leap into the air like a ballerina. Man, if only they could add some ballet music. When he jumps, he has to dump all of the detergent all over the monster. But in style. He did all those things, but he threw the bucket too. I guess that’s style? The vomit evaporated like it was lava meeting metal. After that the man just dropped from the floor with the bucket on his head. Man, he really smelled weird.

The whole school cheered for Evan, Evan felt like Ariana Grande is telling the audience to cheer for him. Did I tell that he was a big, big fan of Ariana?
Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us do the same task as term 1. We had to write like Paul Jennings. We had to do it because we need to learn to be creative with our writing.

Inspired Rocky Shore

WALT: to unpack new and difficult vocabulary.



Task Description.
Today and yesterday I was working on this task. It's basically like labelling the rocky shore. And I drew because we had to free to use images and if you write JPG with the thing you want. It still has a white background.
So yeah!
