Camp Bentzon Top 5 Tips


Walt: write for a specific audience

Dear future campers,
Camp Bentzon is a big beautiful island, officially owned by Erin and Peter. You get to do so many fun activities, both land activities and water activities. Some activities can be really scary, but you still have to try and do it! Good luck at the first day, I swear that hike was tiring. Luckily, the run you do every morning at camp isn’t that long, on the plus side, you get lots of free time and yummy food!

The first tip is to bring the right shoes, because you may get hurt or get lots of cuts at the beach if you didn’t bring your water shoes! You have to bring your water shoes so you can go swimming and do the 3 water activities. You should bring running shoes because you don’t want to wear water shoes or sandals/sandals while going up Killer Hill.

The next tip is to bring enough clothes! You need enough clothes because you don't want to wear the same clothes everyday. Bring like 5 pairs of clothes because that’s how much I needed. Bring 5 pairs even though if it says to bring 3 pairs. But you don’t have to bring 5 pairs of pyjamas, you probably only need 1. Unless if you want new pyjamas every night, bring 3 pairs. You need like 5 pairs of clothes because you may have to wear the same clothes like I did.

The 3rd tip is too try and sleep. Even if you can’t sleep you have to try, you might get in trouble like we did. Even if you don’t wanna wake up, you could get changed early without making that much noise. When you're done changing, you could just relax. You have to try and sleep because you want to have a great camp and not get in trouble.

Were almost to the last tip! Well this tip is about Killer Hill. Don’t run down Killer Hill, Mr. Goodwin even said people ran down Killer Hill and hurt themselves severely bad. They’ve had several severe injuries because of that reason. Also, don’t waste your energy running up, just walk up. And don’t ever use jandals while you walk up Killer Hill!

Finally, were at the last tip. The last tip tells you to be respectful and have good manners. You have to be respectful to every Adult there, and if they ask you to do the favour, you just do it! Also you have to have PROPER manners. When you get food from an adult, you must say Thank you because it’s respectful.

Conclusion.
With these top 5 tips, you will have a great camp at this beautiful island because you will still have your feet, you wouldn’t have many injuries, not get in trouble and you would also have happy teachers because your being grateful or most because your doing the things they don’t want to do.

UV Building Process

One day, A scientist named Ray came to the Year 5 & 6 extension group. Mrs. Langitupu introduced us, I'll tell you something. I  know him, he was an important visitor in ambassadors. But, he probably doesn't even remember me.
Oh well. The first 2 weeks, he taught us UV light, known as UltraViolet. In Week 3, we were gonna make our UV Sensors, so we know if we should stay indoors, wear sunscreen or have an nice day.
The first day of building it was alright. I had a reading test, so I got lost.
But luckily, my friend Eva did everything for me.
The next week was the same. Eva did everything for me again. But Week 5 was really bad. We just got help from the year 5's, and they are YOUNGER THEN US! I mean it was confusing.
Like I was really lost. I can't keep track on Ray, I don't know to where to put the wires!
I finally finished it so I gave it to Ray to finish it off.

That was the process of "me" finishing my UV Sensor! Hope you enjoyed!

Task description.
Mrs. Langitupu made a blog log, so we know what to do! I needed to do a the building process of the UV Sensor.  This took a lot of time because the next day is camp and I can't stop thinking about it! Then I finished it so I posted it on my blog.

UV Light Animation

Skipping Athletics Day

Walt: recount an event.

Topic: Staying At Home
Purpose: To explain why I didn’t go athletics and to let them experience what I would do at home if I wagged.
Audience: The people who know what I did at home.

On friday, I skipped Athletics day. It was really boring, but I still enjoyed the day off. I hope you had a journey with me while you read this piece of writing!

Last week, on friday. It was Athletics day. A day were it’s so exciting for nearly everyone, including the teachers. I’m not one of those people who like Athletics day. I mean I don’t HATE it, but I just dislike it. Because I am not one of those people who like sports.
But I’m one of those people who just get embarrassed when they suck at a certain thing. I am clearly one of them.
The reason why I skipped is because I suck at sports, I didn’t want to let my house team down and also because It’s embarrassing.
So I wagged, I actually don’t like wagging because I feel bad for my family. I feel bad for them because they really want me to be a smart boy who has good grades. 
That’s the reason on why I skipped Athletics day. 

Well, I’m gonna explain on what I did on friday. I really didn’t do anything except playing games and watching youtube. It was really boring, the fact that I was pretty much alone and I had no one to play with but pikachu. (You could pet and give berries to Pikachu, that’s pretty much it) I decided to just watch amazon prime or netflix.
I decided to look for an anime on amazon prime. I found this anime about, well.. I don't know how to explain it.. It’s an anime about Otakus,
(Otakus are like fans of anime.) It’s about Otakus having a hard life because somewhat everyone hates them.
It does have an age limit that I didn’t realise until I stopped watching it. It’s not my fault that the age limit is like inside the most tiny box in the world. When I wanted a break from the anime I decided to go on youtube and watch this channel. It’s about cooking things in weird ways. The youtube channel is Ms. Yeah. She cooks in so much unusual ways. Which is really cool, it’s cool that you can literally cook with anything. Like she used a part of a toaster to cook meat!
She even sometimes share her huge meals which is so nice of her! I recommend watching Ms. Yeah.

While I was watching, my brother came with a surprise, It’s a person who plays with me with my nintendo switch. He brought his girlfriend! Her full name is Angelica I think, but we call her Angel. She is a filipino like us. It was awkward at first.
I asked her if she wanted to play, she said “Sure”. I then asked what game. She decided she wanted to play super smash bros. I set it up on the TV, after I was done. We chose our heroes, I don’t remember what she picked, but I chose Megaman, I chose him because he has amazing combos. I of course won. I don’t remember a few games but I’ll tell you the ones I can remember. I remember we both chose Ken, we did it 2 times because of the first round, it’s really embarrassing, so I died in like 10 seconds because I was using the blue controller but my costume was red and her one was blue. So basically I killed myself because I thought I was her. 
So we played it again, I’m pretty sure I won and it's my first time with Ken. He was strong though, But I still prefer other heroes like Zero Suit Samus or Kirby. Those are all the ones I remember. But while we were playing, my Brother, Darwin made us something called corn beef! It was really nice, but just saying. Angel is such a slow eater. But after that, she went to my brothers room to have her  beauty sleep. Then I was lonely as ever. I decided to watch youtube with my dog.

This day off was really fun, I don’t recommend wagging because you may get in trouble, but also it’s really bad. Don’t take any advice on wagging. But overall, day offs are boring and sometimes even fun. But it’s really relaxing so yeah! I hope you enjoyed reading things I did on my day off.

Something in the water: Animation 2019

Mrs. Langitupu introduced us to a new animation in week 1. This animation was really confusing. It was like a jungle because I never knew what to animate! But then I sort off found out what to animate and then I finished! Then I did my voice over and my animation is done!

Voice over Animation

Hi, my name is Simon. Today I am going to show you my animation. 

This is my rocky shore, there are 4 zones in the rocky shore. I’m gonna talk about the intertidal zone. The intertidal is basically the high tide zone, middle tide zone and the low tide zone.

These are some of the body parts of a crayfish. There are body parts like the pincer!
There's also much more body parts I didn’t add, like the swimmerets.

Now I’m going to show you my crayfish eating a little fish like a goldfish. And then getting eaten by a giant blue shark!

Finish the Story! (reading)

Character descriptions.
Josh is a scaredy cat because he was about to fall in the water. But I can relate.
Josh has a nice dark skin tone, with very short hair. On the 5th page, he looks scared that he would die.
The Storyteller is like this mature kind of child that doesn’t really care. And he's mean because he didn’t bother saving his best friend.
He looks asian, with black hair. He has nice white nails. And he has spiky long hair.
Physical description and Personality Description.


The camp was really nice, like akawa island. It’s a really good camp. It’s nice and dark. And when the sun comes up, it’s a bright cool.
The cabin is really clean. And has a smooth dark wood wall. It has about 4 beds on the ground. 
Setting description.

Beginning
They wake up in the cabin.
Problem Beginning
The boy was stuck and his friend wouldn’t help him.
Rising Action
They are not saving him so the thing is gonna fall.
Where has the story been left?
It has been left when josh is still stuck.

Josh falling.

I think Josh would fall and then everyone will laugh at him.


 Finish off the story


Then Josh fell because the thing broke, and then everyone laughed at him. Then Josh cried and then everyone else felt really guilty. Then Josh wasn’t there friend anymore, but then they apologised and they became best friends again.
They also promised to help him when he's in need.


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us do a extremely confusing task. It was a really hard task. We had to do lots of things that I can't even explain. This task is like a description of the book. But it's a book without an ending.

Superhero! (Writing)


Well, it all started like this. He started to walk to school, but he found this unusual crystal. It wasn’t like glass. It looked like an actual crystal. It was a nice blue colour, and it was shiny as a clean bedroom! He decided to show the teacher, even though the teacher didn’t like Simon. Simon is just trying to be a good student with him.
When he got to school, he went straight to class and showed his teacher. His name was freaky. His name is, Mr. Goodwin.
He’s from Scotland, but born in New Zealand. He didn’t even care. But Simon started to annoy him, he might know what that crystal is afterall. His face started to turn red. He grabbed the crystal and smashed it on the floor. Then gas started to appear from the broken crystal. Then they fainted, I guess it was sleeping gas? Simon was a prankster. He loved joking around, and especially loved pranking people.  He woke up before Mr. Goodwin and he really wanted to go to the toilet. But suddenly, he teleported there. He was really confused. He forgot about having to poop. Then he just ignored the fact that he could teleport and decided to live a normal life. 

Then Mr. Goodwin woke up. He felt more powerful. Like a dinosaur that wasn’t extinct. He found a weird costume, he thought it was cool. He wore it, and he felt way more powerful! He decided to be an undercover villain. He wanted to destroy a student. An annoying student. A student named Simon.
 He was so fast that his feet burned the school. Then his pupils were slowly turning to fire. Simon realized that he had to do something. He quickly found this cloak and put it on. He ran to people and held there hand. He teleported them outside to school. He got everyone out of the school, but then Mr. Goodwin found him. He was losing energy so he couldn’t teleport outside. It’s like Mr. Goodwin had unlimited energy. Well unlimited energy of being evil. Remember when I said he felt like a dinosaur? Well he is strong as a dinosaur. He lifted a line a lockers and threw it at me. Luckily I had enough energy to teleport out of it. But still he couldn’t teleport out of the school. Then Mr. Goodwin grabbed his neck and started to choke him…..  oh no.

Then other students tried to jump in and help him. He said “No stay away from this farting monster!” The student listened but first they asked for his name. Simon thought of a name quickly. He thought of Nomis.
He said “My name is Nomis.” Then the students thanked him on saving them and went away. But one student didn’t. He was trying to kill him. He got a butter knife and chased that monster. But that monster was too fast.
After that student lost breathe that monster grabbed his neck to. He was choking them, but it got worse.
The choking started to hurt more. Simon, known as Nomis started to turn gray. But he knew that the student wouldn’t last as long as a superhero. What will he do?

Simon decided to not give up. He was a very bad superhero. But he finally found out a new power. Invisibility, also being annoying. Simon had enough energy to teleport out of the fist. Then he did his weak punches.
Mr. Goodwin was about to attack Simon, but he teleported behind him and punched him. He kept doing that. But instead, he went behind him and screamed. Then he turned invisible and jumped on his head. He was stomping on him like a giant.
Then the other student decided to tell everyone to come inside and beat him up. Wow, he actually lost. He had extremely good powers to! Then Nomis told everyone to scream hard out. So they did, and Mr. Goodwin was ANNOYED, really annoyed.
He ran away like a baby. I guess that it’s for Nomis! Everyone thanked him for saving him, then he teleported to his classroom and quickly changed. No one saw him.



Then everything started to be normal. But the teacher did come back. He apologized and hoped he would get the job back. He didn’t, but Simon had a great idea. He told it to the principal and he definitely agreed. 
Simon made a mess and said “Janitor, clean it up please.”, The janitor was the villain. 
I guess it’s a normal life now?

Very different though!  The End…....


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin decided that we were gonna do something fun yesterday! Yesterday, we did a piece of writing. It was about superheroes, our OWN superheroes. I finished yesterday, but I didn't get the chance to do my animation for our writing.
My super hero was me, and my evil villain was Mr. Goodwin.

||Museum Trip||

One day, on Week 8, the extension and few other people got to go to the museum.  It was a great opportunity for us. On the first day, we did lots of things.
First of all, we all met up and figuring out who’s not gonna go on monday.
After we figured it out, we went out to the breeze and waited a little while. After we waited for a couple of minutes.
We finally got to go out on the bus.
When we got on, we waited a little while. Actually, it’s more like 30 minutes.
After we got off the bus, a girl introduced herself. Her name was Wendy, she was gonna be our boss.
She showed us the way to the classroom. And that’s when we met a man named Gabriel.
He was gonna teach us how to code the little robots.
Then Wendy and Gabriel introduced curators of this thing. It was definitely about our term 3 theme. Something in the water! They were showing us things in the rocky shore, and they did lots more things!
Then we got split up into 2 groups. 1 group was gonna do the Coding and the VR Painting, and the other was gonna explore the gallery.
My group explored the gallery.
After we saw all those cool things in the museum, we went to this place so we can eat! The food was..interesting. We had a sandwich, apple and a cookie. The sandwich filling was carrots, cabbage, tuna and butter. But with loads of carrots. I tried the sandwich first, and it didn’t taste good, but it didn’t taste bad. After I finished that, I gave my apple to my friend Angelica. I hate apples. Then all I had was my cookie.
Now we just had to wait.
After that was done, it was our turn to do VR painting, Coding and this drawing app!
It was extremely fun.
Then we left the museum, farewell to the museum.

Jokes on you! That was just our first day, now we're on to the second day.
It was basically the same thing, but instead. The bus was super late. But ignore the bus part for now. Let’s move on when we got to the museum.
The second day was interesting, and really fun! We got to choose out of VR Painting and Coding.
I of course chose VR Painting.
Well after that, we had lunch. Lunch was very strange. The sandwich was carrots and cheese.
And then we had like salty cereal, lastly an apple. I gave my apple away.  But the sandwich was disgusting. But I wasn’t really hungry. 
Then we did the same thing and we finally finished. After we finished, we had to say our final goodbyes to the museum.

Then we arrived at school. That’s the end.

Task description.
Mrs. Langitupu made us do a piece of writing when we came back from the museum. We had 20 minutes to finish it, then post it. In those 20 minutes I only finished it.
Then the next day at school, which technically is today, the 11th of September. I posted it.
