Calculate the Area: Gold Task.

Walt: recognise shapes and sides.

Task Description.
Mr. Goodwin made us a task. And we had to calculate the area. We basically just had to do multiplication and we had to look closely at the shape to see if there the same size or not. That's how we did it.

Desert Island 2019


Walt: write using correct sentences.

Paragraph 1
One day, I was thinking about a vacation. So I decided to go on a field trip by myself. It was a BAD mistake. When I was driving around. I was lost. I decided to go in this place. But we weren’t allowed cars. It said, Walk 5 kilometres for the best vacation!”. I believed it. So I walked there, and there was NOTHING. I was lost to. I didn’t know where I was going!

Paragraph 2
Then I was so lucky at this one certain time. I found a sailboat. So I decided to sail around. But I was still lost. Then I went into this random island with the sailboat I found. And I was searching for food to live. But then I found something even better. I found a treasure map. But I didn’t know how to work maps. I usually just use gps. But then I spent hours trying to figure out how to work this map. Then I finally worked it out. It leads me to treasure. So I decided to sail to it. But I first I needed to go to some islands to find some food. Another hour later. I went into coconut heaven! There were so many coconuts around! I decided to take maybe all of them. Just kidding, I only took 5.

Paragraph 3
What’s even better is that I can drink coconut juice! Because it’s in the coconut! After I got my food and drink. I decided to finally find the treasure. I was following every direction. Like I was a robot! “Go east. After that Go North”. Well I was just kind of smart. I just knew the North, East, South, West thing. So yeah. I just followed this dot path. I was hungry so I went on this island. I broke the coconut with one hit. I was really strong. I drank the coconut juice inside it before I ate the coconut. It was delicious. After I finished my delicious meal. I was full. I decided to put heavy things in my boat so it won’t really float around. And I took a one hour nap. After that one hour. Well I mean one hour and twenty-three minutes. I was relieved that the boat was still there. Then I started sailing for my number one mission. I was still pretty far… Pretty? I mean VERY far. I could say it’s like 1000 miles away? Or maybe I was just impatient. After a few days on repeating the same thing everyday. Well I had to find more coconuts and I did. But I found the cave. I decided to go in like a king. But then, something horrible happened. There's like a maze! Two of the caves are dangerous, one is Safe. I just decided to guess. I went to the cave on the right, because right is always right! And I did it! It was just an empty pathway. You get what I mean right? Then I saw the treasure! It was Gold! I guess the pirates died on the last part. Now I went out with the gold. I saw this car park in my map, It was pretty tiny. But it was familiar. It looked like where I park the car! So I went there, It wasn’t too far. 5 miles away. And I found the land! I saw my car and everything. After I got out of the car. The sign changed. It said, “Now go west on the road for a good vacation! I went west because I had to. It was the way to go home. Then for some reason, the dessert changed to like a grassy area when I looked at the back with the mirror.

Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us a writing task, and we had to write about myself stuck on a island. First we had to tell them how they got there, And then we tell the bloggers how they get back.

Car game Scratch: Screencastify 2019

Walt: (My own) Create you're own Scratch game.


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin asked us to do screencastify about some of our games. First I just used the Screencastify app, then I just recorded myself explaining my game.

In case you didn't hear me. My game is about a Person trying to get there drivers licence. And to control you have to use the right and left arrows.

Independent and Dependant Sentences 2019

WALT: to construct effective sentences

Task Description.
Mr. Goodwin made us a presentation and we had to add more information to dependent sentences. So basically were just upgrading the independent sentences.

E.g: I was eating my ice cream.     WHILE I was eating my ice cream, it melted into my hands.

Screencastify: Any old sea will do 2019

WALT: take charge of our own learning.

Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us take charge of our own learning and do 4 tasks. For this task. I made my own presentation and made a screencastify of me reading the book. That's basically all I need to do!

DISCLAIMER: You probably won't hear me, so I'm sorry about that but I couldn't do anything about it. I would just waste my time doing it again,

AlphaBetiCal 2019

WALT: take charge of our own learning.



Task description.
Mr. Goodwin told us to take charge of our learning. For this task, it was all about the alphabet basically! The first page is to find words that are interesting and put them in order. If you have letters that are the same at the start you move on to the next letter. And if it happens again repeat it. For the second task we had to choose our favourite word out of the words we chose, then we went on google and found synonyms. And next we put them in alphabetical order. And the last, we only had to find words. If we couldn't find anymore then we just stop.

Examples: Australia, Auckland.  A is first, next letter. It's the same next letter. Oh c is before s so Auckland is first!

Character Emotions 2019

WALT: take charge of our own learning.


Task description.
Mr. Goodwin told us to take charge our own work and do the 4 tasks. This is my second task. For this task you just had to write emotions for the characters in the story.

Journal word find 2019

WALT: take charge of our own learning.
Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us take charge on our own learning and the first task I did was this journal word find. We basically had to put the sentences on the clues but block the word.

Shapes and Symmetry 2019

Walt: recognise shapes and sides

Task description.
Mr. Goodwin made us a task and we had to make the reflection like it's a mirror. That's all.

Task description. 
Mr Goodwin made us a task and it was all about shapes. We had to know all the sides of some shapes. Like how much sides there is. That's all.

E.g: Triangle: 3 sides.

Setting Descriptions 2019

WALT: write a detailed account.

Task description.
Mr Goodwin made us presentation to write on. We had to tell the settings with descriptive language. We had to use those tips in the first slide. The first thing we had to write about a haunted house. Then a candy house and lastly a castle.

Screencastify: Shark game

Task description.
Mr Goodwin told all of us to make a screencastify of our shark game.

Task description.
Today on Monday, week 7. I did a screencastify our book. We all had to do a screencastify.
That's all!

Character Emotions: Suckered

WALT: understand figurative and descriptive language as we read.

Task description.
Mr Goodwin made us a presentation for our reading task. We had to understand the characters feelings and understand figurative language.

E.G: Mom theirs no food to eat! (No food she/he likes to eat)

We had to use characters in the story. We could choose anyone in the story. The limit was 4. We had to understand there feelings and then we have to write it down in our own words.

On the last slide, we had to choose a character and write they're feelings, also the role of the book/story.
