Breaking Flower and Something Alive Venn Diagram

Task description.
Today I was told to create something called a Venn Diagram with two articles. The two articles were called Brave Flower and Something Alive. We had to put the things that are similar to the other article. E.g Both of the articles have food in it so I have to put the word "food" in the middle.
Then we have to put the things that are not similar  under the article your talking about.
E.g #2  This book is talking about Ancient History, and the other book isn't so I have to put it in the circle under the book's name.
Hope you understand :)

Different Units!

Task description.
Today, on the google meets me and my class were told to do this task. This task was about learning different types of units. On our second slide we had to fill in the empty tables of each unit.
On our third slide we have to choose different units for different things. For example, a bucket of water. We could use litres for that.
On the last slide, we had to do the same thing but instead with times. Like baking a take could take hours. So you could put "hours" in the yellow box.

The Yr 7 Step - Up Programme

1. If you were to give ideas for the next year 7 step-up programme what would you suggest?

I would not be silly so you would have a better experience without being disciplined

2. What would you keep?
I would definitely keep the shared lunches.
I would also keep Mrs. Moala’s challenge is like guessing riddles.
I would also keep the sports like netball.
I would keep the movie time.

3. What would you stop?
I would stop making the groups uneven but instead make them even.
I would change the art tasks we did with Mrs. Tipene.

4. What would you add?
I would add more fun activities that kids would like. For example, kids will LOVE cooking!
I would add more better art tasks.

5. Why do we have such events?
We have this event so it could be fair to the Year 7’s while the Year 8’s are at camp.

And because we have it so we can learn how to be leaders.

Task description.
I had to answer these 5 questions from the Yr 7 step up programme. For example I would stop bullrush and do basketball instead.
Read my suggestions for each question!

Highlights for the Yr 7 Step Up Programme

One of my highlights on the Yr 7 Step up Programme was being the substitute prefects, being the substitute prefects was pretty hard but at the same time it was so much fun! Every practice for the korero was so fun, but yet pretty challenging. We had to pretend there was a granny at the back that couldn’t hear. So technically we had to shout, I expected to get microphones but sadly we only got microphones for the introduction, ending and the school bell. I will admit, when we did the korero with nearly the whole school watching us. We did make a couple mistakes in it. We were rushing to get backstage that our brains got mixed up. But at least the little kids laughed at our mistakes so it’s fine! And that's my highlight from the 3 days.

Task description.
We were told to write about one of our highlights. I wrote about being one of the substitute prefects. We had to write about our whole experience for that highlight.

Reflections - Yr 7 and Yr 8 Captains

Year 7’s
  • I learnt from Nina, the team leader for the thunder group. That her favourite highlight was the food.
  • Bradley’s highlight was being a substitute prefect for the week.
  • Mohammed’s highlight was being a leader for his team and being able to step up.
  • I also heard from Oalii that she saw that people in her group weren’t playing with each other but we were still working together.
  • Sauma saw that some people were stepping up and they acted like proper leaders.

Year 8’s

  • Jezakaia’s highlight was sleeping with his boys because they were scared.
  • Zamera’s highlight was being able to learn how to drive a go-kart.
  • Mamarae’s highlight was seeing her team supporting one person to participate in the activities they were doing.
  • His highlight was when his boys went to his dorm and started singing some waiata.
  • Arthur’s highlight was going into the gym and slapping people with the noodle things

Measuring Up

Task description.
Today I did a measuring task. In this task we had to measure 5 things with a measuring tape. Then we had to write our strategy for that task. We used a ruler to figure out which line is longer. We found out that both of the lines were 27.5 centimeters.

Locations!

Task description.
Me, Alrida and Nina worked on this task. We had to put location marks and the name of the locations on the map. We had to find the countries of the myths we learnt and then on the side we put the names of the myth.
