Pourquoi Tales

Why does the spider have 5 eyes?
Well a long long time ago, when spiders use to have only 1 eye.
One time the spider went to find food in the forest because he was starving! He couldn’t find food for an hour because his eye range was terrible! But then he found this very suspicious looking mushroom, he didn’t wanna eat it but he had to so he could survive. After he ate the mushroom he randomly fell asleep, which was very weird because he usually stays up all night! But then in the morning he woke up and felt weird for some reason, like he was pregnant! He went to a pond to drink some water and for some reason he found it really fast! He looked at the reflection of the pond and realised that he now has 5 eyes his reaction was unbelievable, he was extremely happy!
That’s how spider have 5 eyes.

2. Why do spider have jaws?
Well one time, in a land that doesn’t exist anymore. There was so much scrumptious bugs around the forest. The spider used to always eat funguses and berries but they got sick of it and wanted to try a bug.
So he decided to look for a delicious and fat one! Then he found a big juicy bug and caught it with his legs, but then realised he couldn’t kill it so he tried just eating and while he was gonna take a huge bite, the bug jumped away because they only had two legs! The spider was extremely sad because wasn’t able to eat it, but one day he wanted to go in the water to find some seaweed, when he went in the water to find some seaweed but then the spider went to far down, in the deep parts and then started to sink. Then he fainted but randomly woke up in the beach but the front of his prosoma felt very strange and went back to the water to look at his reflection and realised he had jaws to kill the bugs. He was extremely happy!
That’s how spiders have jaws.

3. Why does the spider have 8 legs? Well let me tell you, centuries ago the spiders use to have 2 legs, the spiders had heaps of trouble walking and they hated it, the bugs they eat would usually always run away because they’d always slowdown because they only had to legs. One time, he saw a bug on the tree so he climbed it without thinking about falling, and he went on the skinny thin branch but then lost balance because of the legs, he fell down into mud and something felt weird, it’s like he felt something coming out of the prosoma and the abdomen and when he got out of the mud he saw that he grew 6 legs! He was so happy because he can walk properly now.
That’s how the spiders have 8 legs.
Read from 1, 2 and 3.

Task description.
Today me and my literacy class learnt what Pourquoi Tales are. I created 3 paragraphs of Pourquoi Tales about the spider. Like for example, how it's got it 8 legs. I had to use my mind to create a awesome/creative idea on how it's got 8 legs!

Game Master Experience

Today a very important visitor went to my class. Her name was Moi (I think that's how you spell it). She introduced herself and told us we were gonna play a game! The game was about a boy who has struggles and we had to give him advice, but I won't spoil what happens just in case you do it! In my personal opinion, the game was awesome! I'm so lucky to experience this amazing game with Moi.

But in the first part, Moi was acting and I'm not gonna lie she was amazing at acting. In the future she could maybe be in famous movies. And at the end for the last part, my group really carried the whole class and we got us a whopping 16 points by doubling the 8 points we had! Overall, like I said before this "Game Master" system was awesome! It's not only fun, but it helps us know how to support other people.

But they didn't stop there, after the game she gave us special cards with numbers to give to anyone that needs help and they gave us cool game master badges!

Thank you Moi and Game Master!

Taha Wairua

Task description.
Today, for Taha Wairua we know that Maori is a huge impact in our lives so for Maori Language week we had to convert our old brains from rotations te reo, and bring it back to our new ones. And I'm talking about when my group learnt about different items in Maori. Then we had to put in images of that item in a google drawing. After we've done that we had to put the name of the item under the image.

He Aha te Tae?

Task description.
Today me and my rotations class is learning about how what colour is your hair in maori. We also learnt how to respond to those lines. On slide 5 and slide 6, we had to figure out what colour there hair was by just writing the colouring in. E.g - On slide six, the  goofy looking girl, she has pink hair. And we know from slide two that pink is mawhero. So we had to replace the underline with mawhero.

Most Expensive Sheep

Task description.
Today I created a keyword chart. This keyword chart was about a person buying the most expensive sheep in the world! (Look in the article to find it how much it is)
I had to remove the keyword how because it won't relate with anything!

And at 8:00 I would arrive at school.
Then finally at 2:30 school would end and I'll go home.
And then I'll be at home at 3:00 and play games like Animal Crossing New Horizons or Fortnite.
And at 7:00 I'll take a nice shower.
And lastly till 7:20 to 12:00 I will play games and after I would watch sleep while watching youtube.

Task description.
Today I created a Schedule on what I do on school days. Then I had to post/share my schedule with my viewers!

Summary about Maths

Today me and my class were learning about the difference between 24 hour clocks and 12 hour clocks.  We first found out what PM and AM means. We figured out that PM means Past Meridian which means it's like Past Midday and AM means Anti Meridian, which basically means before Midday.
Then our teacher told us a fact. Our teacher, Ms. Tapuke told us that in a 12 hour clock you can't know if it's after or before midday. But with a 24 hour clock you would know because instead of it going to 1 PM it'll be 13:00.

Then our teacher told us to write this questions on the board and we basically had to convert these 12 hour times to 24 hour times. E.g : 1:00 PM equals 13:00.
Then after we answered these questions, we felt like the master of times.
Lastly, we searched up timetables for bus stations and we had to say what the time was in a 12 hour clock.

Task description.
Ms. Tapuke told us about times, we were learning how to convert 12 hour clock times to 24 hour clock times.

The Legend of Kava Tonga

When I watched the video my heart literally was about to break on how sad it was. I feel extremely sad because they had to sacrifice their own daughter to feed the king! But it was also very shocking on how the king still respected their decision to sacrifice their own daughter.
But I kind of understand because nearly everyone wants to be respectful to their leader like how New Zealanders/Kiwis are respectful to our one and only Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.
But it's also shocking when they said they were gonna sacrifice their daughter, I wasn’t expecting that at all! I was gonna expect them to sacrifice either the Mom or Dad because they're a lot older and the daughter, Kava has been in the world less years then them. I also feel like the Dad is kind of stupid because he could of found some fish to cook, there's obviously gonna be heaps on fish on a island surrounded by water!

Now I understand the Tongan tradition so I know when I see Kava I have to treat it with  heaps of respect.

Click this link to react to the Legend of Kava Tonga.
Tell me your thoughts about the video!

In Tongan

Ko e faunga hono ma'u'e Tonfa 'a hono hingoā

One time, a man named Maui who was a legend met this guy named Tongataumatā'u (Tonga the expert fisherman). Maui wanted to grab a hook from him, and chose this old vintage looking hook that has been used very well instead of the flash and good looking ones. Maui wanted to pay him for the hook and Tonga offered a deal to Maui. Maui was curious on what it was, well Tonga asked him if he fishes up a island, name it Tonga.

That's how Tonga got its name!
This book was created by an amazing author named David Riley.

How to keep the traditions alive

Task description.
This week is Tongan language week. We'll have a lot of task focusing on Tongan Things. In this task, I thought we had to show our bloggers things on how Tongans keep the Tradition Alive, but I found out it didn't but I didn't wanna let my hard work go to waste so I decided to split up my work. On the first 4 slides, I decided it was gonna be about Tongan culture since it's Tongan Language week anyway. Then I wrote more slides on ways to keep the Tradition alive, that could be like learning the culture!

Tapa Cloth

Task description.
This week is Tongan language week so in our maths we're gonna have Tongan related things like a Tapa Cloth. On the second slide we had to figure out the closest answer to the width of the Tapa Cloth. I figured out this answer because each square of the width is 20 cm, so I just had to multiply it by the number of squares. On the third slide it's basically the same thing but instead it's the height and we have to multiply it by 15 cm. The on slide 4, I had to find the strategy that will find the answer for slide 2 and 3. On slide 6 I had to figure out the area of the tapa cloth, I actually did not know what it was so I took a hard guess. On slide 7 we just had to do what the words tells us to do, like shade in the right percent.
And lastly, we had to create our own tapa cloth, I rushed mine since we only had an hour.

Fun Day Friday

Today on Friday we had a sort of “fun day”. We had all sorts of different events, those events are Wacky Hair Day, Mufti Day and Wheels day. If you don’t know what any of those are, let me explain! Wacky Hair Day is a day where you bring CRAZY hair, like extremely crazy hair.
Mufti Day is when you can wear anything you want in school. It could be a fabulous dress or even your pajamas! It depends on what you want to wear.
And last but not least Wheels Day. Wheels Day is when you can bring your scooter, bike or skateboard. Technically anything with wheels that is safe for children.
Today I only brang Mufti just because I really don’t wanna wear my uniform. But if you do any of those events, you have to bring a dollar coin. I forgot mine but my friend Bradley gave me one, so I’m gonna repay him on monday!

I’m just gonna talk about one more thing. Our amazing principal, Mr. Burt is giving the whole school a treat! I don’t know what the treat is so you have to stay tuned on updates!

Task description.
Today my class were told to write about today because we have 3 special events. I just wrote about what the 3 special events are and what's gonna happen after lunch that I'm really excited about!

Then on slide 2 and 3 I explained how I solved the first and second question, but I'm gonna leave the last question for you to find out so it's not only me learning. Then on the last task we had to answer our "group" questions. Although, we were all by ourselves.

For the Ancestors: One Woman's Malu

Task description.
Today I finished a task about somethings called
a "Malu". We had to read about a girl named Malatena who nearly forget about her samoan past so she got a malu to remind her and to honour her ancestors she hasn't seen before.
On the second and third slide we had to find the answers to the questions by simply reading it. Then on slide four and five we had to find the meaning of the works we've seen or not seen before. Then finally on the last slide we had to create a Malu on our own. I had no clue what I was doing but I hope you like my Malu.

Taha Hinengaro!

Task description.
Today I finished of a task about Taha Hinengaro. We had to be positive minded and find all the good things about us. I had to use my positive mind to find things that I'm good at. It was extremely hard creating/finding these things about me so I asked my teacher, Ms. Tapuke for help.
